Whitethorn, California’s Lost Coast. The Humboldt County Growers Alliance, Southern Humboldt Business & Visitors Bureau, and Southern Humboldt Chamber of Commerce host the Westside Live Market, a southern Humboldt canna-culture event that is featuring direct-to-consumer prices, a dozen local cannabis farms from Whitethorn and Briceland on display, craft artisans, live music, and food and drinks.
Visitors and locals can attend the free event on Memorial Weekend, Saturday, May 28th, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
At the Westside Live Market, attendees can directly connect with 2021 Emerald Cup Award winners Canna Country Farms and Huckleberry Hill Farms, as well as Briceland Forest Farms, Hogwash Pharms, Jack Rabbit Flat, Savage Farms, Vesuvio Gardens, Whitethorn Valley Farm, Wild River Farm, and Woodnote Farm to showcase their unique cannabis strains, e.g., Morning Cuddles, Canna-country #26, Beach Crasher, Whitethorn Rose, and Mom’s Weed, Fatso OG, Squirtz, Bangerang, Grande Guava, and Vanilla Frost. Joe’s Pot Shop provides consumer-direct sales.
Held at the Whitethorn Construction Campus, participants can enjoy woodfired pizzas and sandwiches from Caffe Dolce, or pick up a grab-and-go salad from Cafe Feast Humboldt. Visit the chill Humboldt Box Bar lounge and enjoy a cool non-alcoholic beverage. Located within the campus, Whitethorn Winery will be hosting an open house and tasting on both Saturday and Sunday from 1-5 PM. Whitethorn Hardwoods will also be having an open house sale on slabs and handmade furniture and other locally harvested forest products on both Saturday and Sunday.
Get your groove on with tunes from Anna Banana, Dreams on Fire, and Irie Rockerz. The Westside Live Market is an alluring opportunity to peek behind the curtain of southern Humboldt cannabis culture.
Visitors from northern Humboldt are encouraged to make an in-county vacation by stacking experiences along the way. First, cruise Avenue of the Giants before getting off Highway 101 at Redway/Shelter Cove. Stop off at Briceland Vineyards for its open house tasting before heading to the Westside Live Market. Afterward, head further west to catch the sunset overlooking Shelter Cove’s beautiful black sand beaches.
