Are you one of the 7,000 people who signed the petition for the Humboldt Cannabis Reform Initiative (HCRI) and now feel that you were tricked?
If so, please take a moment to fill out this form to Help Protect Humboldt’s Legal Cannabis Farmers.
We are seeking testimonials from members of the public who signed the initiative petition under false pretenses. Your information may be used to support the litigation to remove Measure A from the ballot.
On October 11, 2023, seven small cannabis farmers and the Humboldt County Growers Alliance (HCGA) filed a legal challenge in Humboldt Superior Court documenting how Measure A’s backers included materially false and misleading information that deceived voters into believing the initiative was about restricting large-scale cultivation and failed to include the full text of the initiative as required by law.
Throughout 2022, signature gatherers supporting the HCRI approached Humboldt voters at farmer’s markets, grocery stores, and fairs, asking voters to sign an initiative petition they said would “support small-scale, high-quality cannabis cultivation” without acknowledging that the initiative would directly harm all existing legal cannabis farms of every size.
With your help, we can prevent the Humboldt Cannabis Reform Initiative (HCRI), now known as Measure A, from becoming law.
